Rob & Halladay Quist

The St. Timothy’s Memorial Chapel Summer Music Festival kicks off on June 25th with a performance by the father-daughter duo of Rob and Halladay Quist.

Rob is a nationally and internationally recognized award-winning singer-songwriter and published poet who has released 15 albums of mostly original music. He was the lead vocalist and songwriter for the Mission Mountain Wood Band, considered the best band to emerge from Montana. Notably, his original songs have been recorded by artists like Michael Martin Murphey and Loretta Lynn.

Rob’s daughter, Halladay, grew up on the road with her father and developed her unique songwriting and musical style. She combines sultry vocals and blends country, bluegrass, folk, rock, and blues elements that have earned her recognition as Montana’s rising daughter. Halladay has performed with renowned artists such as Jewel, Collin Raye, Colter Wall, and the Doobie Brothers.

Montana Chamber Music Society

The Montana Chamber Music Society, one of the most acclaimed groups in our concert series, returns once again for its 28th performance with the St. Timothy’s Summer Music Festival on July 9th.

Made up of world-class musicians, MCMS boasts an impressive list of accolades and awards, including Grammys, Grand Prix du Disqus, and Gramophone Awards.

As always, society continues to advance chamber music by delivering the highest quality performances in Montana’s beautiful setting.

This year’s performance will see returning members as well as a potential new addition from their roster of 12 highly accomplished musicians. The MCMS’s mission is to engage a diverse public with ongoing cultural relevance and provide an extraordinary musical experience for all.

July 23rd, 2023 

Coty Hogue

Coty Hogue, a Philipsburg native and acclaimed acoustic/folk musician, will grace us with her presence on July 23rd as the third act of our concert series.

Hailed as “an impressive young talent” by Grammy-nominated Alice Gerrard, Hogue is a singer and multi-instrumentalist known for her unique approach to using the banjo to accompany her songs.

She synthesizes traditional styles while incorporating contemporary influences to create a sound that is truly her own. With three albums under her belt, Hogue has been featured on BBC radio and Sirius XM satellite radio.

Her rendition of the traditional song ‘Going to the West” held the #1 spot on the FOLK-DJ radio charts, and her track “Oh Wind” is featured in the independent film, Neon Sky. Accompanied by Aaron Guest and Kat Bula, Hogue’s trio features tight harmonies and inventive instrumentation featuring original and traditional songs that promise to be a concert you won’t want to miss.

Bob Bowman

Don’t miss the fourth installment of our concert series featuring the legendary Bob Bowman on August 6th.

Bowman is a seasoned musician who has worked alongside prominent names such as Toshiko Akiyoshi, Frank Mantooth, Carmen McRae, Pat Coil, Freddie Hubbard, Bud Shank, Ed Soph, Karrin Allyson, and Dan Haerle, to name a few.

He has toured around the world and contributed to Grammy-nominated and winning recordings. Bowman’s dedication to jazz education is reflected through his work with his own bands, including the renowned Interstring and Bowdog.

Originally from Kansas, Bowman has been a Montana resident since he was five years old and learned to play the piano and clarinet before starting to play bass at the age of 12. As a freshman in high school, he received a scholarship to the Stan Kenton Jazz Clinic.

Michael Aaberg

Concluding our sensational summer concert series on August 20th is Michael Aaberg, joining us for his very first performance at St. Timothy’s Summer Music Festival.

Michael follows in the footsteps of his renowned father and Montana native, Phil Aaberg, who has been mesmerizing audiences for years with his exceptional piano skills.

Michael is a producer, musician, and educator who established his label, Tiger’s Eye Music, with the debut song “Slept On.”

Currently residing in Oakland, CA, Michael will be making the trip to Montana to provide an unforgettable performance for the grand finale of our 2023 concert series.
