Hey Spartanburg,

It's hard to believe that my first year as Music Director is already coming to a close. It has truly been a dream. Coming off the orchestra's brilliant season finale, I have been reflecting on the memorable moments we have shared this year. We discovered six pieces never before heard in Spartanburg, collaborated with Ballet Spartanburg and Little Theatre, revived some old favorites, and even shared an impromptu moment of singing with one another at our final concert. And this only refers to a portion of what the Philharmonic has to offer - it doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of our Youth Orchestra, Bluegrass, Music Sandwiched In, Espresso offerings, and a very special Music Trail Live! concert.

It has been quite a while since our community's music scene has been so vibrant. I vividly remember the feeling of walking out to a nearly full hall on opening night, one of the most moving moments of my career. Those few seconds affirmed that there was no place I'd rather be than with this orchestra, working with this board and staff, and for this very special community. I have savored every moment in Spartanburg.

Our 2024-2025 Season has been announced and we couldn't be more excited!
 
Your Philharmonic is bringing the very best in orchestra, jazz, bluegrass and more! Our 24/25 Season promises to be filled with fantasy and other worldly possibilities.

For the 24/25 Season, we aimed to put on concerts that everyone in Spartanburg could find something with which to identify. A story, a person, a piece, an event, a tradition, or a feeling. We wanted to weave together a musical story of what a place sounds like - what Spartanburg sounds like. To that end, our season includes performances ranging Baroque, Bluegrass, Blues, a video-game/movie-hero themed “Game Knight”, a Holiday special, a partnership with the library and planetarium, Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique, and a new piece using texts by local writers like Peter B. Kay, among many others. It's a season we're proud of - and one we think all of Spartanburg will be excited to join.
