The Sounds Good Festival returns to Palatine Park in Fairmont, WV on JULY 29, 2023 as the Appalachian Soul Man, Aristotle Jones, brings his regional radio show and podcast “Sounds Good to Me with Aristotle Jones” to the stage for a third year.
The Sounds Good Festival is a FREE, FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT. 2023's festival theme is a Celebration of MIND, BODY, AND APPALCHIAN SOUL! Plus this year Aristotle is celebrating the release of his highly anticipated new album "MOUNTAIN DOO WOP & THE STREETS OF OSAGE"
and he's bringing some of the best performers in the state to the Sounds Good Festival Stage.
Including:
- Aristotle Jones, the Appalachian Soul Man from Morgantown, WV
- The Heavy Hitters, a funk band from Charleston and Huntington, WV
- SHELEM, a Charleston WV based Rapper, TEDX Speaker, and NPR Slingshot Artist.
- HABATAT, Pittsburgh, PA, based funk and jam band
- Annie Neeley Band, Soulful Folk vocalist from Clarksburg, WV

Known as the Appalachian Soul Man, West Virginia native, Aristotle Jones has become a fan favorite in West Virginia, Central Appalachia and beyond.
With engagement, connection, and passion, Aristotle Jones and his 8 piece Amazing Appalachian Soul Band leave it all on the stage with uplifting music influenced by artists like Bill Withers, Leon Bridges, Ray Charles, Darius Rucker, and other Genre blending musical pioneers.
SHELEM
CHARLESTON, WV
A self-proclaimed true entertainer, his primary focus has always been to bring levity and good times into the lives of his audience. He strives to create a magnificent experience with every song, performance, video, and interaction.
HABATAT
PITTSBURGH, PA
Established in early 2012, this funk-rock outfit has become veterans of the festival and live music circuit in Pittsburgh and tri-state area. HABATAT has shared stages with the Soul Rebels, Pink Talking Fish, Twiddle, the Heavy Pets, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and Joe Lewis Walker, among others.
ANNIE NEELEY BAND
CLARKSBURG, WV
For over a decade, Neeley and her bass player/husband, Dave Kirkpatrick, have been writing songs on the folkier side of country. Her 2010 debut, Cold Heart Blues, features the type of songwriting that can coax tears from stone. With stylistic references to Hank Williams and Emmylou Harris, Neeley writes with the confidence of someone firmly connected to their roots.
