West Coast Oyster Shucking Championship and Washington State Seafood Festival

OysterFest is hosted by the Shelton Skookum Rotary Club in Shelton, WA.  Entering its 41st year, this two (and a half) day event attracts over 16,000 seafood enthusiasts and their families each year with activities, entertainment and delicious foods provided by local non-profits and volunteers.

Ready and waiting for OysterFest 2023? So are we!

Join us to start off the weekend properly as we'll ring in the festival's return with a night of live music with the band Big Love,  craft beers, and local food vendors at OysterFunk.

Presented by Shelton Rotary Club on Friday night in the OysterFest beer garden. All proceeds from the night go directly back to local non-profits and Mason County Programs.

OysterFest - WA State Seafood Festival & West Coast Oyster Shucking Championship

Mollusks, microbrews, music and more abound at the annual OysterFest extravaganza in Shelton. Always the first full weekend in October, this favorite festival draws visitors from all across the world — all in search of the perfect oyster.

Hosted by the Shelton Skookum Rotary Club and attended by thousands, OysterFest is home to the West Coast Oyster Shucking Championships and is Washington State’s official Seafood Festival. The festival features hands-on water quality exhibits and the largest food menu this side of Bumpershoot! It's not all oysters, oysters, oysters – besides great seafood, you will find spring rolls, garlic shrimp, homemade strawberry shortcake, fresh cider, and more.

Sample Washington wineries in the wine pavilion and take home bottle of their best! Prefer a local Washington microbrew?  Visit the Microbrew Stage and dance to a variety of energizing bands.

Shuck & Share 5K Run

Family-friendly 5K in Shelton during OysterFest. All proceeds go to help your neighbors with their electric bill. Get your appetite revved up on OysterFest Sunday (October 8th) in Shelton. The fast, Shuck & Share 5K Run coincides with the Washington State Seafood Festival

Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 8:00 a.m.

The race starts and ends at the Huff and Puff across from the Shelton High School. It's a nice flat 5K loop.

All proceeds go to Project Share - Neighbors Helping Neighbors, an assistance program helping hundreds of low-income families with their electric bills.
