We are kicking off our 3rd Annual Sci-Phi Film Festival with the space spoof to end all space spoofs…until the sequel Spaceballs 2: The Quest for More Money. In a distant galaxy, a renegade space pilot (Bill Pullman) and his trusty half-dog, half-man sidekick (John Candy) must save a princess (Daphne Zuniga) from the evil clutches of the Spaceballs, led by President Skroob (Mel Brooks) and the dastardly Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis). This Mel Brooks cult space comedy, is endlessly quotable and parodies films from Star Wars (“May the Schwartz be with you”) to 2001: A Space Odyssey to Alien.

This film is particularly significant as it marks Howard Hawks' sole venture into the science fiction genre and inspired one of the most acclaimed remakes in film history, The Thing (1982).

We invite you to join us at 12 pm for a special screening of an episode from the Original Series, which will be followed by a brief intermission; at 1 pm, we will present STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK. Admission to the film includes access to the episode screening. In the aftermath of Wrath of Khan, the crew of the USS Enterprise faces significant losses.
