From: Saint Augustine Beach Civic AssociationCity manage Max Royle
is guest speaker tomorrow
Ocean Hammock Park is a work in progress. The first project completed by the City after receiving a development grant was the construction of the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is utilized by locals and tourists alike and enjoys high ratings and accolades from almost everyone. A small group of property owners at Sea Colony have decided the Boardwalk needs to be moved. This idea of moving the boardwalk has not been well received by many. City Manager Max Royle will be the guest speaker at Thursday night’s monthly meeting of the Civic Association. Mr. Royle will talk about the current state of affairs relating to this issue and others facing our City Government.
The Civic Association meets tomorrow, Thursday January 19th at The Art Studio located in Pier Park. Doors open at 6:30 with Mr. Royle speaking at about 7:05 pm. Refreshments will be served. Members and concerned citizens are invited. SABCA Memberships will be available before and after the meeting. There will be a short business meeting after Mr. Royle’s presentation. We hope you can attend
Music & Art by the Sea is now a
year round cultural event
The Civic Association has been a long time supporter of the Art Studio Group. In 2021 we rebranded our long running Music by the Sea event to include a weekly art show. Including and promoting locally produced art led to record sales at The Art Studio. According to Art Studio President Paul Slava, “the impact of the collaboration saw Wednesday sales eclipse First Friday Art Walks and sales of all other days. This was big for the local art community”, Salva said.
In 2023, the Civic Association is providing funding for live solo performers at each month’s First Friday Art Walk. The Civic Association hopes that by providing a weekly stipend for live music, sales of locally produced art will continue to grow. The Art Studio has features the work of The Artist of the Month in addition to dozens of pieces from its other members. We invite you stop by the next event on Friday February 3rd from 5 until 8 PM at the Art Studio in Pier Park
