New Mural and What is a Doodle Grid?
It’s not vandalism! It’s actually part of a very intriguing process that will result in a beautiful mural on what was the old City Police Garage. What was just on old cinder block building will soon be a photo opportunity for locals and visitors. Art in Public Spaces has become a big thing, especially when it comes to tourists! St Johns County Artist Brooke Page has been contracted to create what we all think will be a masterpiece! The photo above is what Ms. Page calls a doodle grid. She will use the doodles as a guide by overlaying her design over this photo on her computer. Brooke will be painting this week and when you come to Wednesday’s concert, we invite you to come by and see the work in progress! This project is being led by the SJC Cultural Council in collaboration with the City of St Augustine Beach, the Live Wildly Foundation and the St Augustine Beach Civic Association!
