Sherman will make a special appearance at the Thursday, November 7 performance of “A Spoonful of Sherman.” Audiences that evening will enjoy a pre-show talk by Sherman and a unique performance from him as part of this celebratory musical journey.
Robert J. Sherman, known as “Robbie,” is the son of Robert B. Sherman and nephew of Richard M. Sherman—the acclaimed songwriting duo, the Sherman Brothers. Sherman Family Estate and Archives, preserving a legacy that includes the Sherman Brothers and the work of his grandfather, Al Sherman.
Robbie Sherman’s “A Spoonful of Sherman” offers a one-of-a-kind musical experience that takes audiences on a nostalgic journey through beloved songs that shaped childhood memories. This uplifting production pays tribute to the extraordinary music of the Sherman Brothers—Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman—who brought to life Disney classics including Mary Poppins, Winnie the Pooh, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The Jungle Book, and the unforgettable It’s A Small World.
The musical celebrates over 100 years of the Sherman family’s contributions to popular culture, showcasing songs from three generations in a production that LifeHouse Theater is proud to present in its West Coast premiere. Originally conceived as a cabaret-style show, “A Spoonful of Sherman” has evolved into a story-driven, song-and-dance experience, featuring timeless tunes that continue to captivate audiences of all ages.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Robbie Sherman to LifeHouse Theater,” says LifeHouse Theater President Wayne R. Scott. “The Sherman Brothers have had a profound impact on my life and have served as a guiding inspiration for LifeHouse Theater. Honoring their legacy with Robbie Sherman’s personal involvement makes this an experience unlike any other.”
