From: Reading Public LibrarySnow much fun in the Children's Room!
While the weather is balmy, check out this week's amazing storytimes and programs in the Children's Room.
On Friday, December 15 at 10:00 am, join RPL Librarians for a fun adventure and help usher in a new season. Read stories, sing songs, decorate snow people and more! Friday Family Fun is for kids up to age 5 and a caregiver.
On Friday, December 15, kids over 5 with a caregiver can explore their artistic side at their own pace during Spark Spot. Drop-in from 2:00 - 4:00 pm to draw, collage, glue, design & create.
Register today for Food for Frosty Friends to find out what Abominable Snow People, Caribou and Penguins all have in common! Two things actually: they love snow and snacks! Join us to make a treat to take home for your favorite cold weather creature.
Thanks to Friends of the Reading Public Library for generously sponsoring Children's Room programs.
Visit a museum during winter break!
Are you looking for something to do over the winter break? Book a museum pass! The library offers a wide variety of passes to museums all over Massachusetts. For your convenience, many museums now have printable or virtual passes allowing you to reserve from home without needing to pick up the pass from the library. Check out our latest pass, Battleship Cove in Fall River, which has special programs during winter break. Or, visit the Harvard Museum of Natural History, and check out their new exhibit, Swimming with Sharks. And for outdoor fun, you can get outside at the Ecotarium and Zoo New England.
Saturday, Dec 16: Small steps make a big difference!
Are you thinking about where you'd like to be next year? Come to Small Steps & Slight Shifts in 2024 for an opportunity to evaluate where you are now, and learn how small steps and slight shifts in perspective and behaviors can bring desired outcomes. Presented by Reading resident and dynamic educator Lori Lambert-Osburn. Registration required.
Monday, Dec 18: A Wynter Holiday Concert
Need a break from commercial radio holiday tunes? Come to the library on Monday, December 18 for an evening filled with medieval musical magic. The Harper and The Minstrel are a musical duo who specialize in historically inspired and passionately performed Medieval, Renaissance, and Celtic music.
Take the Library Outdoor Spaces Survey!
The Ad Hoc Library Landscape Committee is seeking public comment on how to improve the library’s outdoor space and services. Please take our quick, anonymous Library Outdoor Spaces Survey and let us know how you want to see the space used. The survey will be open through January 12, 2024. We look forward to hearing from you!
