When the days are short and chilly, the library is cooking with loads of programs and services to take your mind off the low temperatures. When you have a moment, take a look at what's happening in January and mark your calendar to register! We look forward to starting off the new year with you! Here are some highlights:
January 11: RPL Book Club discusses Maggie O'Farrell's Hamnet!
January 11: Therapeutic Music Programs continue, every other week.
January 13: Kids Can-dy! is a sweet global adventure for grades 1-4.
January 23: Biss Botanicals presents Succulent Plants for Teens.
January 24: Winter Concert with Jeff Snow, The Softer Side of Celtic.
Stay healthy this season! Flu Clinic, 12/13
The town of Reading is hosting a Flu Vaccine Clinic from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in the library Community Room. Register for a time slot here.
Staying up to date on COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters, is the best way to prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19. To help you stay well, the state is offering free, family-friendly COVID-19 vaccination clinics. A $75 gift card will be offered to Massachusetts residents (adult or child) who get vaccinated at any of the clinics listed at this link through December 31, 2022, while supplies last. Does winter bring on wanderlust? Got the urge to explore? Starting in January, the 2023 Armchair Explorer's Book Club can feed your need to rove, roam, and ramble by bringing you compelling new stories of Americans abroad. Registrants to this subscription book club will receive a new book monthly, from January through June. Registering in January will subscribe you to the full series. Registration opens December 14. Sponsored by the Friends of the Reading Public Library.
Virtual! Learn about Hanukkah, 12/15
The Reading Public Library is excited to partner with Tewksbury Public Library and other Massachusetts public libraries for a virtual program about Hanukkah on Thursday, December 15 at 7:00pm on Zoom.
Join us to learn about Hanukkah -- a fun-filled eight-day festival celebrated by people all around the world who practice the Jewish faith -- in this presentation from the Lappin Foundation. Register today to receive a Zoom link via email.

Your library holds – on your time! Can’t make it to the library to pick up your holds during regular business hours? Send your items to our new secure Hold Pickup Locker and access your materials at your convenience. Have your library account number or RPL App ready! The lockers were made possible due to generous support and funding from the Reading Public Library Foundation.
