PVD Cello Festival is an event committed to enriching the music scene in Providence by presenting concerts and educational workshops that celebrate the versatility of the cello.

Cello Fest Kicks off with an exciting evening of multi-genre cellos! Jake Sokolov, EDT, Anna Kerber, Cello Candy, Sammy Wetstein, and Isabel Castellvi perform folk music, alternative songs, experimental music, and  improvised music!?

may 31,2025

10 am - 3:30 pm - Providence Public Library

10 am - Grooving on strings through Celtic and American roots folk music with guest Sammy Wetstein

(open to string players of all levels)

12:35pm- Red Velvet Vengeance (Cello Ensemble playing Heavy Metal arrangements)

1pm- Old - time jam session with the Vox Hunters

2pm- Steve Marotto

2:45pm- Tom Swafford's String Power is joined by an ensemble of cellists to play Pop, Jazz, and original tunes

7 pm - Mathewson Street Church

Cello Fest concludes with a night of traditional folk, old-time music, and jams featuring 2025 guest artist Sammy Wetstein, the Vox Hunters, and more local cellists!

All Cello Fest Events are based on a sliding scale of $10-20, paid at the door
