Pioneer Works - The Next Ten Years of Pioneer Works

Arts and Entertainment

December 6, 2022

From: Pioneer Works Center For Art And Innovation

A decade ago, our founder, artist Dustin Yellin, imagined Pioneer Works as a place where artists, scientists, and thinkers from different backgrounds could converge and work together in real-time. He sought to create a space that didn’t yet exist—a space where learning was a collective and interactive pursuit, one that could serve as a new organizational model free of disciplinary silos.

This year as we celebrate our tenth anniversary, we reflect on the humble beginnings of Pioneer Works and look toward the future. Watch “Ten Years of Pioneer Works” to learn more about our people, vision, and future.

As we imagine the next 10 years of Pioneer Works, we hope you'll consider making a tax-deductible contribution to sustain free admission, champion emerging artists, and empower life-long learning and discovery in our dynamic home. To gain more intimate access to Pioneer Works while supporting the arts and sciences, consider becoming a member.

PERFORMANCE

Baye & Asa: HotHouse

January 14 & 15

Pioneer Works is pleased to present HotHouse, a newly commissioned performance by Baye & Asa, the artistic moniker of Sam “Asa” Pratt and Amadi “Baye” Washington. Conceived as a duet between the two dancers, HotHouse unfolds within a large plexiglass structure originally designed as a response to the epidemiological hurdles presented by the pandemic. The performance is paired with an original live score by Julian Pratt and Harlan Steed of celebrated punk band Show Me The Body and brought to vivid life through Baye & Asa’s physicality.
