Arts and Entertainment

October 1, 2024

From: Adams County Arts Council

The Adams County Arts Council, will feature exhibits by metalsmith and artist, Judy Pyle, photography by Liz Willson and a collaborative show of mixed media, woodworking and raku by Josh Fidler, Wendy Heiges, Shawn Heiges, Ashley Pieper and Ritch Taylor.

Interiors is a collaborative exhibition of function and form by a group of local and regional artists. Shawn Heiges is a ceramic artist whose visual inspiration, organic materials, and outdoor firings relate directly to the natural world. Wendy Heiges is a mixed media artist who attributes her background in design as the perfect springboard for her twenty-year adventure working with frames and mirrors. Josh Fidler started woodworking a few years ago to escape the stress of his job as a chef. This quickly turned into an outlet to channel his creative energy as he started building pieces for his home and commissions for local customers. Ritch Taylor makes cutting and serving boards out of wood and Ashley Pieper is a fine woodworking artist who specializes in creating sculptural elements into her designs.

Judy Pyle’s Retrospective exhibit features Judy’s enameled work, metal work and watercolors. Her enameled work reflects her garden in all seasons, and as well as events on the world stage. Her artwork is the result of years of experimentation with shapes, surfaces, and fabrication methods. She continues to hone her skills with both well-known instructors’ workshops and hours working alone in the studio.

Intricate Majesty, a photographic exhibit by Liz Willson, is an exploration of her day-to-day vision using creative lenses and techniques. She is inspired to develop her work as an artist using the elements of depth, mystery, layers, curiosity, hope, and storytelling.
