From: The Plaza Arts CenterPAPA, the Plaza Alliance for the Performing Arts, has announced the cast for its next play production.
The play “Don’t Dress for Dinner” by Marc Camoletti will be performed at The Plaza Arts Center. PAPA is a part of the Plaza operation, and all but one of its productions since 2008, the year the Plaza opened, have been performed here. The one exception was “Witness for the Prosecution” by Agatha Christie, which was performed in the courtroom of the Putnam County Court House.
“Don’t Dress for Dinner” features six interesting characters. The plot has a number of twists and turns, is full of mixups, false assumptions, and pretensions, all leading to amusement, laughter and hilarity.
On an evening set in an old French country home, six people come together for one reason, only to become part of a twisted dilemma as their individual intensions to do one thing turn into an unexpected and difficult situation. Bernard’s plan for a romantic weekend while his wife Jacqueline goes to visit his mother definitely goes awry and rightfully so. It should be noted that this is a play for mature audiences.
The cast and their roles for this play are Lou Benjamin (Bernard), Beth Mappes (Jacqueline), Michael Homeier (Robert), Michele Saarela (Suzette), Diane Shinneman (Suzanne), and Art Shutt (George).
This particular play is a very demanding one for cast and directors as it moves quickly with surefire dialogue and actions. PAPA is very proud to have been able to identify a very capable cast for this demanding play.
The directors are the very talented and experienced Sarah Daly Weir and Dennis McClain, who have directed dozens of PAPA plays.
The performance dates at The Plaza Arts Center for “Don’t Dress for Dinner” are November 14, 15, 21, and 22, all at 7 p.m. and also on Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. Contact the Plaza either by phone, 706-923-1655, or online at www.plazacenter.org for tickets. Tickets are $25, $20, and $15.
We hope you will come support as PAPA presents its 80th production to the Eatonton area. Also, please note that net proceeds of PAPA productions help support The Plaza, particularly the summer productions presented by The Broadway Intensive Program, a program for local youths interested in theater, music, and dance.
