Portland, OR - On Saturday, February 22^nd in Portland, delegates from around the state gathered to elect a new leadership team of the Oregon Republican Party. New officers-Chair Jerry Cummings, Vice Chair Connie Whelchel, Secretary Sheri Brady, and Treasurer Glenn Miller-plan to usher in a new era focused on uniting the party, strengthening party infrastructure, expanding voter outreach, advocating for election security, and raising the necessary funds to secure Republican victories in key statewide races.

A lifelong Republican, Jerry Cummings brings to the new role decades of leadership experience in politics, business, and community service. In addition to serving in numerous GOP leadership positions in the Pacific Northwest, his background as a Baptist minister, small business owner, and media professional equips him with the necessary skills to unite and energize the party. His strategic vision emphasizes collaboration, innovative fundraising, building a well-trained volunteer base, engaging key voter groups-including non-affiliated voters-and ensuring Republicans regain a legislative majority by 2030 to shape a common-sense future for Oregon.

The top ORP Delegate to the Republican National Convention, newly elected Vice Chair Connie Whelchel brings a strong background in business operations, communications, and political organizing. A leader in the Deschutes County Republican Party, Whelchel played a key role in record-breaking fundraising and voter outreach initiatives. As ORP’s former Get Out the Vote (GOTV) Committee Chair, Whelchel developed training programs and engagement strategies that led the party to register 1.5 times more new Republican voters than any other political party, as well as to mobilize 87.8% of Republican voters to the polls in November, a greater percentage than any other party. Whelchel is committed to advancing election reform, evolving GOTV tools and resources, and fostering party unity.

Newly-elected Secretary Sheri Brady, a dedicated Republican with experience in grassroots organizing, party administration, and election strategy, served in leadership of the Douglas County Republican Central Committee, where she led voter registration drives, GOTV efforts, and election integrity initiatives, as well as played a key role in Republican campaigns. Brady was a Delegate to the 2024 Republican National Convention, serving as Whip in the RNC Rules Committee. An Army Reserve National Guard veteran with a background in office administration and graphic design, Brady brings discipline, organization, and strong communication skills to the role. As Secretary of the ORP, she will focus on transparency, efficiency, and collaboration to grow the party from the ground up and to elect Republicans across Oregon.

New ORP Treasurer Glenn Miller is an experienced IT professional, business analyst, financial steward, and dedicated public servant who has served as Treasurer for multiple political and nonprofit organizations. As Treasurer of the Washington County Republican Party, he implemented a long-term financial strategy, introduced funds-based accounting, and improved budget transparency. Miller also brings valuable leadership experience from his tenure as Vice Chair of the Hillsboro School Board, where he advocated for parental rights and played a key role in a $15 million cost-saving boundary change. He will ensure that ORP operates with financial integrity and is well-positioned to support Republican candidates across Oregon.
