Salvatore F. Spadaccino, age 71, beloved husband of Michelle (Yakusewich) Spadaccino of Huntington, died Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at his residence following a sudden illness. Born in Bridgeport on January 29, 1954, he was the son of the late Salvatore S. and Evelyn (Luciano) Spadaccino. Sal was raised in Bridgeport and graduated from Kolbe Cathedral High School. He was a Licensed Funeral Director and served as the President of his family’s business, S. Spadaccino & Sons Funeral Home of Washington Ave., Bridgeport for over 30 years. In 1998 Sal earned his CT Realtors and Brokers Licenses and together with his son, Salvatore founded the Spadaccino Realty Team of Bridgeport.
A devoted parishioner, he found great comfort in his relationship with God and lived his life with kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. He was committed to serving others, always embodying the values of love, compassion, and service that his faith instilled in him. He found great joy in giving back to his community and dedicated much of his time to helping others. Affectionately known as “Pop”, Sal was often seen at his grandchildren’s many sporting events and activities and cherished time spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children, Danielle Spadaccino of New Haven, Michael Spadaccino and his wife, Brooke of Shelton, and Salvatore Spadaccino of Shelton; a sister, Marianne Godfrey and her husband, Henry of Milford; a brother, Frederick Spadaccino of Shelton; cherished grandchildren Madison, Michael, Salvatore, Gianna and Benedek Spadaccino of Shelton; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Patrick Spadaccino.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial, MEETING DIRECTLY AT CHURCH, will be celebrated on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 10:30 AM in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Avenue, Huntington. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
