Lydia Elizabeth Edwards, age 63 of Ansonia, passed away on March 1, 2025 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Hartford on December 17, 1961, she was the adopted daughter of the late Donald and Gay Faulkner Edwards. Ms. Edwards spent most of her young life in CT then moved to RI where she graduated from Tollgate high school and later from the Rhode Island School of Design. She was a talented jewelry designer and artist of light metals.
A valley resident for the past 20 years, Ms. Edwards worked as a care giver in area group homes, providing compassionate care to individuals unable to care for themselves. Her strong work ethic, unselfish nature and giving heart endeared her to many. She enjoyed a brisk walk and easily made friends wherever she would go. She will be long remembered as a loving and dedicated mother and loyal friend.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Dana (Jay) of RI and Drew (Mathew) of VT; and her cherished grandchildren, Deanna, Nathan, Emily, Mark, Joey and Ronnie. She also leaves behind Lexi, Kensley, Sherpre and many other people (too many to list) who she welcomed into our family.
Funeral services are private. The Wakelee memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, is in care of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wakeleememorial.com.
