From: Northwest Bach FestivalNorthwest BachFest announces September concerts of the 2024/25 season, Saturday, September 7 and Sunday, September 8, 2024. Community engagement activities will take place throughout the week of September 3-8. Guest artist Awadagin Pratt, piano, will be the featured artist at Spokane Symphony’s season opening concert the week following BachFest performances.
Northwest BachFest presents Grammy Award Winning pianist Awadagin Pratt in concert. Grammy-Award winning BachFest Artistic Director Zuill Bailey, cello, will perform with Pratt on both concerts.
Multi-Grammy winning Awadagin Pratt’s most recent Grammy win in February 2024 was for Best Contemporary Classical Composition for “Montgomery: Rounds,” performed with “A Far Cry,” a Grammy nominated conductorless chamber orchestra, and composed by Jessie Montgomery. The piece was commissioned by Pratt's Art of the Piano Foundation and written especially for him by Montgomery.
