From: Niantic Children's MuseumCT Summer at the Museum Program
The CT Summer at the Museum is back and invites Connecticut children age 18 and under plus one accompanying Connecticut resident adult to visit participating museums free of charge.
Tickets must be reserved online for this program and are only valid for afternoons, 1-4pm. Limited tickets available.
Tickets will be released on a weekly basis every Friday.

Please note: Museum Members, ACM Members, and paying Museum visitors do not need tickets and can visit the Museum as usual. Online tickets are for those participating in the CT Summer Museum Program only.

Friday Dollar Night
Friday, Aug. 4, 5-8pm
Come enjoy an affordable Friday night at the Museum due to the generosity of Electric Boat Employees Community Service Association. Admission is $1 per person for everyone over 12 months old. Pre-registration not required.
Sensory-Friendly Evening:
The Wonders of Water
Friday, Aug. 18, 5-7pm
Join us for a special evening, which is free for families with children on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing challenges. During this event, the Museum will be made more welcoming to our more sensitive guests, along with having some quiet corners and sensory bins set-up throughout the facility.
Evening Theme: Wonders of Water
Join us for a summer evening of water fun including doing some amazing water experiments, painting with water and making your own very cool foam boat!
Free to attend. Pre-registration required. This event is funded by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut.
Summer Science Days are back!
Summer Science Days
Monday-Friday, 9:30am-4pm
Join us for a summer filled with science, learning and wonder! In July and August, we’ll be exploring a different science each week with demonstrations and hands-on activities. You can even take the learning home with a complimentary book.
All activities are FREE with Museum admission.

Electricity & Magnetism Week: Now-Aug 4
Visitors will experience electricity in action through our exciting Van de Graaff generator demonstrations. We’ll even try to harvest electricity from everyday foods! Guests will also have the chance to experiment and build with magnets along with creating their own magnet craft to take home.
Sustainability Week: Aug 7-11
Visit this week to learn how to be kind to the Earth by reducing, reusing and recycling. Enjoy various experiments and make crafts out of recycled items.
Construction Engineering Week: Aug. 14-18
Let’s get building! This week is full of physics concepts such as force and motion, gravity, and simple machines. Visitors will explore Newton’s Laws of Motion by making their own balloon car. Let’s not forget about creating a Tegu masterpiece or building a shelter from our Thinker Linkers!
Geology & Oceanology Week: Aug 21-25
During this week, children will experience some different aspects of earth science from the land to the sea. We will learn about volcanoes and make some paper mountains to see how water flows over landscapes. There will be hands-on time with live creatures.

Does your day include a visit to one of our town beaches? Niantic Children's Museum visitors* can use the Museum's beach parking pass for a 2-hour beach visit. Members may call ahead to check availability. Museum guests*, check front desk during your visit. More ways to have fun at the shore!
