From: Music at Kohl MansionThis Sunday, January 12 at 7 pm
Music at Kohl's international chamber music season continues January 12 - May 4, 2025.
Founded in 2017, the Reverón Piano Trio has quickly established itself as one of the most important chamber music ensembles from Latin America. The trio shares a true passion for the performance of works by Latin American composers and introducing audiences to this rich repertoire of contemporary and standard works. These seasoned artists, all Venezuelan but now residing in the U.S., are active promoters of Latin American music through their work as scholars and entrepreneurs, and have devoted their careers to the discovery, cataloging, performance, editing, and recording of this repertoire along with commissioning new works. We welcome the trio's Music at Kohl debut.
Program: Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel: Piano Trio in D minor, Opus 11; Teresa Carreño: Little Waltz, “Mi Teresita”; Gabriela Lena Frank: Four Folk Songs for Piano Trio; Ricardo Lorenz: La Hamaca; Astor Piazzola: Verano Porteño, arr. José Bragato

A letter from our Executive Director
Dear Friends,
With the continuation of our 42nd season, we welcome 2025 with five extraordinary international chamber ensembles, showcasing an authentic blend of virtuosity and heartfelt passion. Featuring repertoire that includes a U.S. premiere and several Bay Area premieres, these performances celebrate the brilliance of composers spanning three centuries.
Highlights include the evocative voices of rarely-heard Latin American classical composers, the local debut of an emerging Iranian-American composer, a captivating evening of French masterpieces, a tribute to brother and sister composers Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn’s remarkable legacy, and a poignant farewell to the Alexander String Quartet as they grace us one final time before their retirement.
Audiences will experience the intimacy of live chamber music on five Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. in the remarkable setting of the historic Great Hall at Burlingame’s Kohl Mansion, a cherished venue hailed as “an acoustic gem … an intimate performance space.” (San Francisco Chronicle)
We invite you to join us for this exceptional season, where each performance promises to inspire, delight, and connect. Tickets are available now, and we encourage you to secure your seats soon to share in these unforgettable moments of musical brilliance.
Happy musical New Year,
Patricia
