Moonlight & Movies | Americanish
Thursday, May 11, 6:30pm
In honor of AAPI Heritage Month, join us for a screening of Americanish (2021, 107 min). The film immerses us into the world of two Pakistani-American sisters in Jackson Heights, Queens, and their newly immigrated cousin. The three women navigate trying to both honor and break from cultural traditions while balancing personal values and career goals in a society that does not always accommodate both. A Q&A with Iman Zawahry (director, writer, and producer) and Aizzah Fatima (writer/producer) will follow the film.
