MCNY’s Education Team brings hidden voices to light in a new series
The Museum’s Frederick A.O. Schwarz Education Center launches a new series of virtual learning experiences for both teachers and students this January, Hidden Voices of New York City!
This series draws from Hidden Voices: Untold Stories of New York City History, a resource guide for teachers that was developed in partnership between the Museum of the City of New York and the New York City Department of Education.
The workshops will explore the stories of six historical figures from NYC—Antonia Pantoja, Bayard Rustin, Elise Richardson, David Ruggles, Wong Chin Foo, and Sylvia Rivera—who advocated for the rights of Black, indigenous, and other communities of color, working communities, and gender and sexually diverse communities.
Reservations are required for these FREE workshops. Tell a teacher you know or sign up today!
