From: Arlington Arts Center

Dear Friends,

Recently, I wrote to tell you about all that the Museum of Contemporary Art Arlington has on tap for you this summer - and about our Summer Community Arts Drive to raise $30,000 to fuel our outstanding contemporary arts programming, this summer and beyond.

The response from the MoCA Arlington family has been inspiring, with patrons of the arts stepping up to help reach this critical target by June 30, the end of our fiscal year. If you've given this past week, THANK YOU!

If you haven't given yet, we have an exciting new development for you. A group of current and former MoCA Arlington board members have announced that they will match every donation made to the Summer Community Arts Drive by the end of the day tomorrow, up to a total of $15,000.

Please take advantage of this remarkable opportunity to DOUBLE the impact of your support for the arts by making a generous tax-deductible gift now.

Your matched contribution will give a crucial boost to MoCA Arlington's cutting-edge arts programming for our community, including FREE admission to our five current exhibitions:

 - A World in a Zip Code: Columbia Pike Documentary Project - which includes photographs, video, and oral history by the Columbia Pike Documentary Project, a team of photographers and storytellers whose work captures the evolving life of Arlington County’s historic Columbia Pike corridor.

 - Asa Jackson: Cut to the New - featuring textiles and stories drawn from artist Asa Jackson’s participation in workshops and gatherings with affordable housing community residents, part of the IMPACT Arts Residency partnership between MoCA Arlington, Arlington Cultural Affairs, and Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing.

 - Christina P. Day: Depth Cue - a compelling exploration of time and lived experience by groundbreaking artist Christina P. Day, whose sculptural installations of hand-cut salvaged linoleum fragments use space to evoke a sense of time, serving as memorials to defunct fashions.

 - Steve Wanna: A Vast Expanse - an interactive soundscape and light installation by celebrated multi-disciplinary artist Steve Wanna that was inspired by the phenomenon known as the "event horizon," the border between the singularity of a black hole and the surrounding universe.

 - Hot Goss - slang for "hot gossip," this exhibition features works from all 12 current participants in MoCA Arlington's renowned Resident Artist Program, demonstrating how creative ideas are exchanged, reinterpreted, and transformed through the interactions between artists.

In addition, your matched gift will help people of all ages unlock their creative potential by providing TWICE the support for MoCA Arlington's art classes, workshops, and children's summer art camps.

And you will have DOUBLE the impact on our partnerships with local schools and social service agencies - helping to make the arts more accessible to all of our neighbors.

With just a brief window to take advantage of this especially generous matching gift offer, I urge you to make a contribution of any amount to the Summer Community Arts Drive now.

Thank you for helping to make this an arts-filled summer to remember in our community!

Warmest regards,
Catie
