From: Monmouth County Park SystemUPPER FREEHOLD— The Monmouth County Park System is pleased to announce that the 19th century gristmill at Historic Walnford, Upper Freehold, will resume its demonstrations starting Saturday, April 1. Held at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m. & 3:30 p.m., these demonstrations show how corn was ground into meal. Lasting approximately 15 minutes each, demonstrations are free and offered on weekends through November.
Besides the gristmill, the site also features the pre-Revolutionary Waln House, an 1879 carriage house, and an assortment of other structures. The site's historical buildings are open daily from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
