From: Minnesota Museum of American ArtIn this season of thanks, the M wants to extend deep gratitude to everyone who has joined the M in various ways lately, especially during this first year of Dr. Kate Beane's tenure as executive director of the M.
In particular, the M has seen outstanding support in the last several weeks. With meaningful contributions from St. Paul and beyond, the M will continue presenting innovative exhibitions and engaging programs, building a strong community along the way that believes in the M.
Small Museum. Big Ambitions.
The M participated in Give to the Max Day 2022, joining thousands of Minnesota organizations to encourage support for local nonprofits. Generous givers quadrupled the amount that was raised for the M last year, showing that with a focus on co-curation and community engagement, the M can keep expanding its impact in St. Paul and beyond.
While the M has made progress over the last year, continued support is necessary for the M to operate at this exciting level. All donations are meaningful! Please consider making a gift today.
On Tuesday, November 15, the M was filled with people who traveled in the snow to listen to a discussion between Kate Beane, Patricia Marroquin Norby, and Scott Shoemaker entitled “Elevating Native American and Indigenous Voices in Arts Institutions: A Fireside Chat.” This important and generous conversation was a valuable stepping stone in the effort to understand how existing museums like the M can participate in uplifting Native American and Indigenous perspectives across organizational fields.
A video of this conversation will be available soon at mmaa.org.
