Government and Politics
November 21, 2024
Boston, MA - On November 20, 2024, ERO Boston announced the arrest of three illegal immigrants who have been charged with child rape in Massachusetts. This development comes just days after Governor Maura Healey and Mayor Michelle Wu doubled down on their refusal to work with ICE and federal authorities to deport criminal illegal immigrants. Both leaders have cited “public safety” as their rationale for refusing to cooperate with ICE, a stance that leaves these dangerous individuals in our communities.
MassGOP Chair Amy Carnevale issued a sharp rebuke of these extreme positions, stating:
“It’s appalling and disgusting that the Governor of Massachusetts and the Mayor of Boston, the largest city in our state, are prioritizing appeasing the most radical elements of their political base over the safety of Massachusetts residents. Parents across the Commonwealth are horrified that individuals charged with such serious crimes are allowed to roam free because local authorities refuse to work with ICE to remove these criminals from our streets.”
Carnevale continued:
“Massachusetts residents have had enough. These harrowing incidents are becoming far too frequent. When our state’s top leaders go on television to proclaim that Massachusetts will protect illegal immigrants and refuse to cooperate with ICE, they send a dangerous message that invites more of this behavior into our communities. By doing so, they are complicit in the chaos that follows. It’s time for Democrats to put politics aside and work with federal authorities to end this alarming pattern in Massachusetts.”
Massachusetts families deserve better. It’s time for real leadership that prioritizes public safety over political posturing.
