Joseph Grigely: In What Way Wham?

(White Noise and Other Works, 1996-2023)
On view now

In What Way Wham? (White Noise and Other Works, 1996-2023) brings visitors into the experience of "watching the world with the sound turned off"—a reality familiar to artist Joseph Grigely, who has been deaf since the age of 10. Grigely delves into the intricacies and missteps of communication in this exhilarating exhibition, which includes White Noise, a room-sized installation of handwritten notepapers archiving hundreds of the artist's conversational fragments since the 1990s.

On view beginning June 24

In her solo Kidspace exhibition, Anne Samat adorns traditional Southeast Asian Pua Kumbu weavings with humble household goods from 99-cent stores and thrift shops to construct totemic figurative sculptures. Samat’s work is dedicated to the feeling of love – found in personal relationships, in past generations that paved the way for her, and in potential feelings that could exist among strangers.
