Cabaret meets cumbia when Florencia Cuenca and Jaime Lozano reimagine musical theater classics with lush Mexican folk arrangements. Once you hear Lozano’s take on hits from Rent and Hamilton—backed by the acclaimed Mariachi Real de Mexico de Ramon Ponce—you'll understand why Lin-Manuel Miranda called him Broadway’s "next big thing" and why he's the composer for the forthcoming Frida, the Musical. Snag your seat below before this shimmering show sells out!
Daniel Giordano:
Love from Vicki Island
On view beginning February 4
Whether deep-frying motorbikes or flaying tennis balls, sculptor Daniel Giordano takes an alchemical approach to assemblage, transforming the flotsam of Newburgh, NY—his Hudson Valley hometown—into provocatively personal portraits of a family and culture in transition. Dozens of Giordano’s eclectic, autobiographical works go on view this Saturday in Love From Vicki Island, the artist’s first solo museum exhibition. Learn more and make plans to see his work in person below.

La Seca
February 3 & 4, 4pm
This collaborative performance by M. Elijah Sueuga and Armando Guadalupe Cortés converges on the artists’ interest in sound as well as shared geography while activating Cortés' work on view in Ceramics in the Expanded Field.

Akoma: Jlin & Florence To
Saturday, February 18, 8pm
Florence To's mesmerizing videos join Jlin's pulsing rhythms in Akoma, a new work-in-progress concert/installation that brings audiences into a cosmic conversation between light and sound. Taking its name from a West African symbol representing "heart," Akoma will reverberate through our Hunter Center and you. Don't miss what happens when a virtuosic visual artist and an electronic musician at the vanguard create something new.
