MBTS PUBLIC LIBRARY NEWS & EVENTS

The library will be open for limited hours on Monday, July 3, from 10:00AM - 1:00PM. On Tuesday, July 4, the library will be closed for the Independence Day holiday. The library will reopen at 10AM on Wednesday, July 5. The virtual library is open 24/7 from anywhere at manchesterpl.org/resources.

The Library's summer hours will begin July 1 with the library being closed Saturday and Sunday and open Monday-Friday.

School supplies and backpacks needed by kids on the Northshore. The library is a collection site for Beverly Bootstraps Backpack and School Supply Drive. Visit https://www.roonga.com/beverlybootstrapsbackpacks2023 to see what is needed and drop off before July. The items will be picked up mid July, but we aren't sure exactly when - so don't wait!

NEW Summer Art and Sensory

WEDNESDAYS BEGINNING July 5 - AUGUST 23 FROM 3:00-4:00PM

Art and Sensory encourages students to explore their creativity through the fun of using many different art materials. The project is always step by step, hands on and guided to help create individual masterpieces! This program starts 6/28 and runs every Wednesday in the summer. Kids entering pre-k - leaving 2nd grade can register at manchesterpl.org/events. Space is limited and you must register for every week you would like to attend.

Mystery Book Group: Featuring Author Bruce Robert Coffin

Special Meeting Notice! This month's author, Bruce Robert Coffin will be at our meeting, in person! We will meet at Masonic Lodge Hall, behind the Library: "10 Church Street" -- access from parking lot behind the Town Hall.

Bruce Robert Coffin is the award-winning author of the bestselling Detective Byron mystery series. A former detective sergeant with more than twenty-seven years in law enforcement, he supervised all homicide and violent crime investigations for Maine's largest city. Following the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, Bruce spent four years investigating counter-terrorism cases for the FBI, earning the Director's Award, the highest award a non-agent can receive.

The Manchester Mystery Book Group meets on the last Friday of the month at 10:30 AM. Email [email protected] with any questions or to get connected with the group. First Friday Movies at MBTS: The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Movies at the Library have returned! We will be showing a movie in our newly renovated Reference Room on the first Friday of every month at 5:30PM. We will supply the popcorn. Feel free to bring covered, non-alcoholic beverages.

The movie this month, The Super Mario Brothers Movie has a MPA rating: PG; for action and mild violence. "A plumber named Mario travels through an underground labyrinth with his brother, Luigi, trying to save a captured princess."

Career Center on the Go with MASS HIRE

The Career Center of the GO at teh MBTS Public Library. OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC; and an opportunity to bring services provided by the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development directly to the hands of our community residents. During this visit the following information will be imparted:

Career Coach Advising – An opportunity where residents can speak one-on-one with an Advising Coach about the possibility of ANY Training Opportunities offered at MHNSCC. Training Opportunities such as career certifications, Industry-specific training (Healthcare, Manufacturing), or simply career pathways.

Job Search Assistance – This is a unique chance to review the labor market in various industries and discuss salary expectations, ONE-ON-ONE Résumé Review, and connections with meaningful jobs and careers.
