From: Lehigh Valley Arts CouncilDear Members and Friends,
July was a joy ride of celebrations for LVACA!
We took advantage of a perfect, not-too-hot weather day to host Disability Pride Lehigh Valley on Saturday July 20. Alongside more than 20 vendors and sponsors, we enjoyed live music, laughing yoga, a science demonstration, food trucks, art-making, and more. We were grateful to partner with Disability Pride PA alongside local collaborators including Allentown Art Museum, ASR Media / Fig Lehigh Valley, The Baum School of Art, Lehigh University Art Galleries, and Zoellner Arts Center to celebrate the Lehigh Valley’s diverse community. Check out the photo gallery below and Save The Date for next year's event on Saturday July 19, 2025.
On July 24, we joined our friends from Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers Inc. (LVCC) and the Da Vinci Science Center to dedicate a new collaborative STEAM mural created by Bethlehem artist Carla Majczan and 300 local children. The mural marries elements from original artworks generated by students, likenesses of several children included in the project, and Majczan’s own imagery. Please make sure to check out the mural next time you visit the new Da Vinci Science Center in downtown Allentown!
As always, we couldn't do this work without your energy, enthusiasm, and support. Please feel free to respond directly to this message with comments or questions!
SENDING GRATITUDE TO OUR AMAZING SUMMER INTERN
Laurel has been working tirelessly behind the scenes here at LVACA to create exciting new visual interpretations, moving maps, and insightful graphics to interpret, translate, and share the robust AEP6 data we received earlier this year. Stay tuned to our socials and website for their debut very soon.
Laurel Nolin recently defended her thesis for a Masters of Arts Administration at Ohio University and was thrilled to expand her practical skills during her internship with LVACA. Her experience as a piano teacher fuels a deep passion for developing artistic minds, bodies, and souls. Whether she is making music or crafting a project, her favorite way to work is in relationship with others.
Please welcome Laurel back to the Lehigh Valley after having spent several years of her childhood there before pursuing higher education.
