On April 30, 1939, The New York World’s Fair opened! Featuring exhibits by 58 nations and 33 states, this spectacle comprised 1,354 exhibitors and 310 places to eat. With the theme “Building the World of Tomorrow with the Tools of Today,” this two-year event forged lasting memories for all who experienced it. Register here.

January 11 Coco avant Chanel: In this film we’ll get a glimpse into the life of Gabrielle Chanel in her early years and see how this part of her life led her through the journey to become the iconic Coco Chanel, whose label and designs remain to this day. Audrey Tautou stars as Chanel.

Photoshop Workshop

This workshop will introduce the Adobe Photoshop CC software as a photo editing and design tool. Every class will start with a demonstration, and individual attention will be given to each student. Some prior experience using Photoshop is recommended. A subscription to Adobe Photoshop is necessary, either as a student 3-month trial or as a month-to month purchase.

AAA Connecticut Defensive Driving

Sharpen your driving skills with the AAA Defensive Driving Course. Available to both AAA members and nonmembers alike, this program is Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicle approved. Drivers 60+ who complete the course, may qualify for an auto insurance discount. This course will be presented by New Canaan Police Officers Daniel Gulino and Rex Sprosta.

New
KINIMA Virtual Fitness Trainer
Lapham is excited to announce our partnership with Renee Migdal, co-founder of KINIMA, a virtual fitness trainer. Renee, recently awarded a grant through the National Institute of Health (NIH), is an interactive mobility coach for fall risk measures, and she provides well-being for seniors through guided exercise with a side-by-side view.
The program is free, but it requires a commitment of 45 minutes, twice a week, for ten weeks. The virtual trainer provides a 3D tech fitness platform on a monitor, creating a personalized mini gym with real-time feedback. Interested seniors will need to be pre-screened to determine eligibility. If you are interested in this program, please email us or call 203-594-3620
