New Adult Class Highlights
Sundays, Dec 10 & 17, 10am-3pm
Instructor: Beth Davila Waldman
Location: Kala Printmaking Studio
Work with your own photographic images and mixed media to create layered works. Participants will be introduced to various adhesives and sealants to work with, as well as papers and as the gel photo transfer methods as a method for your work. All levels welcome!
Wednesdays, Jan 10-Feb 28, 6-9pm
Instructor: Tomoko Murakami
Location: Kala Printmaking Studio
This introductory, 8-week course will provide an intensive experience with printmaking. Students will have the chance to learn and work in relief printing, intaglio, monotype, collagraph and more! All levels welcome.
Saturdays, Jan 13-27, 10am-4pm
Instructor: Rich Fowler
Location: Kala Printmaking Studio
An introduction to relief printing with linoleum. Topics covered include linocut supplies, carving techniques, print registration and printing with an etching press. Students will learn the step-by-step process to take their initial design ideas to a small edition of prints. No prior experience necessary!
Artechn?: Learning the Art of Botanical Drawings
Tuesdays, Feb 6-March 5, 6-9pm
Instructor: Eva-Maria Spampinato

Artechn? is the study of art technology and materials. This fall series will be on the foundations of drawing, called observational studies, with focus on the study ‘how to’ draw botanicals from representation.

Teen Studio: Printmaking Holiday Cards
Tuesdays, Dec 7 & 14, 4-5:30pm
Instructor: Yael Levy
Location: Kala Community Classroom
Students will carve their own block prints using easy-to-cut blocks, try printing with a traditional printing press, and experiment with some low-prep screen printing. All levels welcome!
After School Studio Spring 2024 Registration Open
Sign up today for our Spring 2024 After School Programs! We have Tuesday and Thursday sessions available. Both sessions offer fun and interactive art-making experiences designed for young artists in 1st-5th grades.
Monthly themes and project activities incorporate drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, and mixed media art inspired by the art of local and contemporary artists of various intersections of identities, cultural experiences, and backgrounds. In addition to hands-on art-making, class activities may include visits from guest artists, storytelling, gallery tours, games, movement, and conversational and written reflections to help build an appreciation for art and the role of art(ists) in our community.

Teen Studio Winter 2024 Registration Open
Sign up today for our Winter 2024 Teen Studio Programs! We have a Drawing session on Tuesdays and Studio session on Wednesdays available. Both sessions provide skill-based art-making and activities designed for young artists in 6th-12th grades.

During this 9-week winter session, the class will focus on contemporary methods and techniques in drawing.
