From: Kala Art Institute

Thank you for supporting Art Kala 2023!

It's a wrap! A BIG, heartfelt thank you for coming together to make Kala's auction benefit a success. We loved having Dia Bondi and the live auction back for the first time since 2019 - what a show! We raised over $175,000 as of today. There is still an opportunity to make a donation and contribute to fund-a-need or purchase items on the auction site. For winning items, please stop by the gallery Tuesday-Friday, 12-5pm this week and next for pick up.

Appreciation and additional thanks to the honorary auction chair, artists, speakers, auctioneer, auction committee members, staff, board, and advisory council, framers, local businesses, sponsors, donors, buyers, and all who contributed to the joy and success of the auction this year. We're blown away by everyone's generosity from start to finish - thank you!

Community Figure Drawing Session

Date & Time: Monday, May 22nd, 6-9pm
Location: Kala Gallery
Facilitators: Kala Staff
Cost: $20-$35 (Sliding Scale) + Eventbrite fee

Come draw with us in the spacious Kala gallery! We will have a model for the full 3 hours during which participants can practice their figure drawing at their own pace, work on incorporating a figure into an existing piece, or however they’d like to use their time! Kala staff members – who are also practicing artists – will facilitate the session and offer any desired feedback or support. Kala will provide drawing boards and standing easels, but recommend that participants bring tools and surfaces of their choice to the session. Kala will have limited basic materials for general use (such as charcoal, graphite, and newsprint). The session will include a series of short poses (1 – 5min) as well as some longer poses (10 – 20min).

This community workshop is open to all ages 18 and above. The figure model will be unclothed for the duration of the drawing session. Masks are recommended but optional. Space is limited - register via Eventbrite.
