RALEIGH - Judge Jefferson Griffin today filed his brief with the North Carolina Supreme Court in order to bring this process to a swift conclusion.
While Democrats engage in escalated rhetoric over these protests, the facts have not changed. As far left outside groups perform stunts and ignore the rule of law, they cannot argue the merits.
Contrary to state law, individuals did not provide Photo ID for overseas absentee voting in State races. The law is clear: Photo ID is required to vote.
The NCSBE has allowed individuals who have never lived in the United States, much less North Carolina, to vote in our states elections, which violates the North Carolina Constitution.
Finally, prior to December 2023, the NCSBE acknowledged issues with incomplete voter registration forms but refused to address them in violation of state law.
It is imperative that blatant violations of state law are decided by our state's highest court.
"Judge Griffin's protests highlight clear, specific violations of state law and must be addressed by the NC Supreme Court. The merits of this case are clear and the failures of the N.C. State Board of Elections must finally be corrected," said NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons.
