Downtown Johnstown Culture Crawl

We're delighted to help celebrate downtown Johnstown's cultural awakening by being part of the Third Annual Culture Crawl! This free, open house-style event will include live music, exhibits, demonstrations and more. The Johnstown Flood Museum will be open for visits, and the Johnstown Train Station will feature George Byich on guitar as well as a cash bar.

Chip Minemyer: Burkert's gift - strategic planning beyond 'walls of a museum'

Chip Minemyer, publisher of The Tribune-Democrat, wrote a column about Richard Burkert and a strategic planning document produced by JAHA back in 1991. "The Johnstown Area Heritage Association and its partners actually achieved many of the concepts outlined in its Johnstown Heritage Development Plan – with some proposals continuing to unfold even as Burkert retires after 44 years leading the region’s cultural heritage efforts," Minemyer noted.

The column has been reproduced on JAHA's website with permission, along with a PDF of that 1991 plan.
