Oklahoma Democratic Party Calls Out Deception, Urges Voters to Stay Informed
Oklahoma City, OK — Last night (Oct 1st), J.D. Vance made a startling admission during the vice-presidential debate when he remarked, “The rules were that you guys weren’t going to fact-check.” This slip shows Vance's intent: he came prepared to mislead the American people. He clearly hoped to spin falsehoods unchecked, avoiding accountability for his and Donald Trump's actions.
"Vance’s surprise at fact-checking reveals just how comfortable the GOP has become with deception," said Alicia Andrews, Chairwoman of the Oklahoma Democratic Party. "He came to this debate armed with dishonesty, hoping to outrun the truth. But facts have a way of catching up."
Last night’s debate underscored the stark contrast between a party willing to deceive and one dedicated to transparency and truth. Oklahoma Democrats stand firm in their commitment to an informed electorate and call on voters to dig into the facts, not the fiction presented by Vance and his running mate.
"We cannot allow dishonesty to shape the future of our country,” Andrews added. “Tonight’s debate showed us the stakes. We must double down on our efforts to engage, inform, and empower voters to combat misinformation.”
The Oklahoma Democratic Party urges Oklahomans to take action: check your voter registration status before the October 11th deadline, request absentee ballots early, and join local efforts to support candidates who prioritize truth and transparency.
