Residency members Beast Crawl Literary Festival and Mad One Media are facilitating upcoming in-person events at Intersection for the Arts,
which is conveniently nestled between Hayes Valley and the Mid-Market Corridor.

The Thin Poetic Line: Writing Workshop
The Thin Poetic Line is a 6-week course that will serve as an entire course or a drop-in generative writing class, exploring the relationship between narrative poetry, flash memoir, and flash fiction. Paul Corman-Roberts will lead writers through prompts to create emotionally compelling stories and poems.

The Beast Crawl of Fame All Star Jam
This performance features Oakland Poet Laureate Dr. Ayodele Nzinga and SF Poet Laureate Emerita Kim Shuck as headliners in a heavyweight ticket reading over a lush landscape of ambient blues courtesy of the lay/lie band. Other features are MK Chavez, Nazelah Jameson, Natasha Dennerstein, Reggie Edmonds, Kimi Sugioka, and Joel Landmine; the very best of East Bay poetry. All ticket sales will support the Beast Crawl Lit Festival taking on July 22, 2023 in Downtown Oakland.

Artist State of Mind (ASOM)
Celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month with a lecture series hosted by Mad One Media and TED Speaker/NPR Storyteller Joshua Walters. This is a professional development series for companies wanting to invest in the mental health of their employees through creative approaches. This Thursday series will feature authors, comedians, musicians, actors, and media makers, focusing on how they created a business from their art practice. Build relationships and strengthen the connections of your team at work by improving your communication, empathy, and humor. These are tools that can help de-stigmatize and support self-care and coping techniques around mental health stressors in the workplace.
