Our festival is all about celebrating the community of climbing. When we come together at City Park and Wild Iris each year for traditions old and new, it’s a reminder of just how awesome this global climbing community is. We can celebrate our differences and similarities, strengths and struggles, and be reminded that we all share a common love.

July 13, 2023

VOLUNTEER PROJECT 9 AM - 2 PM at Fossil Hill. Join USFS and help maintain the trails and area we love! This project will focus on trail and routine maintenance! Please wear close-toed shoes and long pants. All tools will be provided, and we will be out there rain or shine!

If you would like to carpool, meet at the Lion’s Shelter in City Park at 8 AM. You don’t need to be a ticketed attendee to participate!

Join Wyoming Wildlife Federation for an informal discussion on how we can make our approach to enjoying the outdoors more holistic.

Presentation: “Don’t Take Schist for Granite: The Geology of Climbing” w/ Monika Leopold of Brunton International 5 PM - 6 PM

Rock climbers are inherently interested in geology. Learn how rock characteristics, regional deformation, plate tectonics, and geologic time formed our favorite local Wyoming crags and other famous crags across the country with a climber and geologist.

Presentation: “Devils Tower - Bats, Climbing, and Stewardship” with Climbing Ranger Charlotte Higginson of the NPS 6 PM - 7 PM

Come learn about the culture and history of Devils Tower National Monument/Bear Lodge and how the National Park Service manages bats, climbing, and stewardship at the monument.

AAC CLIMB UNITED BOULDERING MEET-UP sponsored by Adidas 10 AM to 3 PM at the Rock Shop. Join Kai Lightner, Wind River Pride, Salt Lake Area Queer Climbers, Color the Wasatch, and Cruxing in Color for a FREE day of climbing and community. We encourage participation from BIPOC and LGBTQ+ climbers within the community. Please note that this is not a guided session, and no official climbing instruction will be provided. That being said, we will lean on authentic mentorship within this community. If you’d like to carpool, meet at 9:30 AM in City Park at the AAC booth. Afterward, there will be a happy hour at the Adidas tent at 5 pm. This event is FREE and you do not need a Festival Ticket to attend, but we do ask that you RSVP.

SINKS CANYON STATE PARK: WHY WE NEED THE NIGHT 9 PM - 10:30 PM. Join a ranger to learn why dark skies are critical to human and animal survival. Discover the beauty and mystery of the dark skies above Sinks Canyon. Meet at the Visitor Center at 9 PM for this free program.
