Advocacy Update
Holland Avenue Tudors
Back in September, HAF nominated the Tudors for listing as a local historic district. Local historic district status would give the buildings a bit more protection making requiring that any alterations to the exterior of the buildings that is visible from a public right of way, including demolition, go before the Historic Resources Commission. The Historic Resources Commission held a public hearing and recommended the district for listing.
The next step is to get the nomination before the Common Council, which is where the Tudors need your help. Help us get the nomination onto the Common Council's agenda by writing to your Common Councilmember and the Tudor's Council member, Sergio Adams at [email protected]. Let them know that the Tudors deserve to be listed and protected.
Not sure who your Councilmember is or how to contact them? Use the map on the Common Council's website here to find your Councilmember and get their contact information.
Exclusive Roof Tours at 48 Hudson!
Last night we had a fascinated crowd take a peek at the roof as our contractors begin the process of disassembling the roof. Layers of sheet metal and asphalt shingle have come off to reveal the 1728 sheathing. Want to take a close up gander yourself at the collar tie nubs and tooling marks? We've got two more opportunities coming up in April.
