7th Annual Robert Burns Dinner
Saturday, March 4, 2023
5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$140/ $150 non-member
Enjoy a night filled with food, music, spontaneous toasts, and shenanigans.
Guests for this special occasion will participate in a time-honored celebration, which includes eating a traditional Scottish meal of ceremonial haggis, toasts of whisky, storytelling, recitation of poetry, trivia and prizes, bagpipes, fiddles, and singing–all in the spirit of the poet, Robby Burns.
Robert Burns, a source of pride and inspiration for Scots the world over, is considered one of the founders of the Romantic movement. He wrote the timeless classic “Auld Lang Syne” (loosely translated to mean “for old times’ sake”)—often sung on New Year’s Eve as well as at graduations and other occasions of farewell. We will perform a rendition of “Auld Lang Syne” at the end of the evening.
The poet’s friends started Burns Night Suppers shortly after his death and it has become one of Scotland’s most beloved holidays. Celebrations are held in late winter and marked by close friends and good cheer.
This evening is full of fun and frivolity, and plenty of special whiskey tasting!
