Arts and Entertainment
December 18, 2023
From: Hammer MuseumAs 2023 comes to an end, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued coverage of the arts and the Hammer Museum. This was a significant year in the history of the Hammer—from the culmination of our two-decade transformation this spring, to the opening of our latest Made in L.A. biennial this fall, to the announcement that next year will be director Ann Philbin’s final year leading the museum. We’re grateful for your continued interest in our programs and exhibitions.
Undoubtedly 2024 is poised to keep the momentum going as we present a diverse and multi-layered slate of upcoming exhibitions, including the west coast premiere of Only the Young: Experimental Art in Korea, 1960s–1970s; Refashioning: CFGNY & Wataru Tominaga; a retrospective of the late Filipino artist David Medalla; and the Hammer’s contribution to PST Art: Art and Science Collide—Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice, curated by Glenn Kaino and Mika Yoshitake.
Below you’ll find a short recap of our upcoming exhibitions and Hammer Projects, with more information in our Advance Exhibition Schedule linked at the end of this email.
For further information, questions, previews and interviews, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Once again, thank you for supporting the Hammer Museum and I look forward to working with you in 2024.
Cheers, and Happy Holidays!
