The Swing City Combo is made up of four of Grand Junction’s foremost musicians: Rob Labig on drums, Tim Emmons on bass, Max Reilly on piano and Clark Gault on trombone. They’ll be playing swing music for dancing and listening!
Javier de los Santos
10:30 - Classical Guitar
Classical guitarist Javier de los Santos began his formal music studies in 1998 under Francisco Javier Muro Guevara at the Unidad Académica de Música de la Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas in México. Since then, he has performed extensively in the U.S., Mexico, Spain and Brazil. Locally, he has performed at Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia and with the Apollo Chamber Players from Houston at the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra Chamber Concert Series. Past performances include playing with Pepe Romero and Romero’s Guitar Quartet at the Celedonio Romero Guitar Institute in Oklahoma City, and being a soloist with the Grand Junction and Boulder Symphony Orchestras. Javier is founder of Mariachi San Jose, president and artistic director of the Western Colorado Classical Guitar Society, guitar instructor at Independence Academy Charter School, and instructor of music theory and guitar at Colorado Mesa University.
King n Trio
12:00 - Folk/Americana
Since its inception in December 2001, the King n Trio has entertained audiences with their enthusiastic toe-tapping singalongs. Band members Chris Unfug, Merritt Kinsey, Russ Williams and Kelly Anderson are members if the Grand Junction Rotary Club and have raised over $200,000 to date for Rotary Foundation and other charitable projects. Proceeds from their five CDs are also part of the band’s fundraising efforts.

Donny Morales is a vocalist, guitarist and harmonica player from Montrose. He’s been a part of the Western Slope music scene for more than 20 years. BEACON readers voted him Best Musician for the 2021 BEACON Best Awards in Montrose and Delta.

Canyon Grand Barbershop Quartet
9:00 - Barbershop A Cappella
This teaching quartet from the Bookcliff Barbershop Harmony Chorus consists of George Humfeld (tenor), Olyn Carlson (lead), Dave Woodward (bass) and Bob Labig (baritone). This senior quartet with more than 250 combined years of singing experience and plenty of graying hair loves to sing to anyone who will listen. As the chorus expands its community performances and their repertoire builds, they strive to enrich the lives of everyone they meet with their special brand of harmony.
Peggy Malone

Armed with her stick hoss, maracas and songs to sing along to, Peggy Malone engages her audience. Peggy has been a professional entertainer for over 50 years. She has been recognized with multiple awards from the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame, including Female Vocalist of 2016, Entertainer of the Year 2013 and People’s Choice Award 2012. She also won a Patsy Cline sing-alike contest out of 30 contestants. Her song “Singin’ A Cowboy Song” won a Heartland Regional Emmy in 2006 and her song “Appaloosa” was adopted as the official song for the Appaloosa Club in Moscow, Idaho.
Robin Freed & Harps in Motion Ensemble

Robin Freed has played harps for over 15 years. She currently operates Harps and Hammers Music Studio in Montrose and teaches both private and group classes, including harp, hammer dulcimer and keyboard. The majority of her students are over 60 years old. For show dates, call 970-275-8996.
Mike Gazdak
12:00 - Rock ‘n’ Roll Swing
Listening to Mike Gazdak is like listening to a one-man band. Since arriving in Grand Junction more than 40 years ago, Mike has played piano and accordion professionally as a soloist and alongside many popular local musicians. He’s currently the keyboard player for the Rock ‘N’ Swing Band and also plays piano for the Mixed Bag Jazz Band. Mike plays a variety of music ranging from light classical to jazz standards. Jimmy has been playing music professionally for half a century. He’s performed in venues in the U.S. and worldwide, including Iceland, Greenland, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Japan and Canada. Locally, he frequently performs at Bailey’s Lounge in the Grand Vista Hotel and at Enzo’s Ristorante Italiano. His musical repertoire is eclectic, featuring classic pop favorites, blues, jazz and more.

Mesa County’s RSVP Senior Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) provides free, unbiased and personalized counseling and education on Medicare and Medicare-related issues. This year, there is an unusually large number of changes to Medicare due to recent federal legislation, the resumption of Medicaid redetermination reviews, and the likely end of the COVID Public Health Emergency. In this presentation, SHIP counselors discuss the changes most likely to affect your costs for medical services and medications over the next year.
