Governor Welcomes Criminal Illegal Aliens to Come to Connecticut
MIDDLETOWN - Governor Ned Lamont fails to grasp that we are a nation of laws and borders and that his far-left progressive attitude is putting Connecticut residents at risk, according to Republican State Party Chairman Ben Proto.
“Ned Lamont continues to speak and act as if he doesn’t care about the dangers of an open border and the presence of criminal illegal aliens who do not have legal rights and are not entitled to taxpayer funded services,” said Proto. “Connecticut citizens have always welcomed peaceful immigrants who come here and apply for citizenship through the legal process.”
Lamont said Friday that “undocumented immigrants’ were welcome in Connecticut despite thousands who are here illegally but enjoying free education, health care and other state services at the expense of legal immigrants and working people. More importantly, Governor Lamont seems to also want to protect those illegal aliens who have committed heinous crimes in their home countries or, more importantly, here in the United States.
Proto pointed to the 2015 murder of Connecticut resident Casey Chadwick by a criminal illegal alien. Jean Jacques, Chadwick’s murderer, came to the United States and was involved in a murder in 1996. Weak foreign policy and the refusal of the Haitian Government to accept Jacques led to his release by ICE in 2012 and ultimately to the murder of Chadwick in 2015.
“Apparently Elections and the will of the people mean little to Governor Lamont and Democrats in the legislature and in certain City Halls,” said Proto. “Whether it is discredited progressive ideology or the dangers of criminal violent illegal aliens, Ned Lamont can’t face the commonsense reality of what Americans, including Connecticut citizens have said they want.”
Proto said Lamont should work with federal authorities while they are doing their Constitutional duties. “President Trump’s policies are clearly designed to restore the rule of law, protect citizens and to honor those immigrants who come here to pursue asylum or legal citizenship.”
“When will Connecticut Democrats and their leader, Ned Lamont, rejoin the world of law and order?” asked Proto. “When will Democrats recognize the people of Connecticut will not tolerate elected leaders who selectively choose the law they are compelled to uphold. It is the oath they took - the Constitution of the United State and Connecticut – they are failing to uphold.”
