From: Kentucky Governor Andy BeshearFRANKFORT, KY - Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Gov. Beshear has appointed Laura Dake as Mayor of the city of Versailles.
- Laura Dake of Versailles replaces Brian Traugott, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Fred Allen Meyer as Magistrate for the First District of Jessamine County.
- Fred Allen Meyer of Nicholasville replaces Justin Ray, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Jacob Higgins and Jana Bailey to the Board of Nursing. Additionally, the Governor has appointed Sara Ferguson and Alisha Clemons as members of the Board.
- Jacob Higgins of Lexington is a nurse scientist at the University of Kentucky Healthcare Department of Nursing Professional Practice and Development and will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2028.
- Jana Bailey of Taylorsville is a nurse anesthesiologist and will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2028.
- Sara Ferguson of Union is a self-employed midwife and APRN and will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2028.
- Alisha Clemons of Lexington is an APRN at the University of Kentucky Healthcare Department of Infectious Disease and will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Carlos Sanchez to the Kentucky Center for the Arts Corporation to serve for a term expiring Nov. 7, 2028.
- Carlos Sanchez of Crestwood is the president of AT&T Kentucky. He replaces Patricia Mathison, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Bianca Crockam to the Kentucky Board for Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy to serve for a term expiring Oct. 31, 2028.
- Bianca Crockam of Pembroke is an educator. She represents citizens at-large as a member of the Board and fills a vacancy.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Myron Lewis, George Bray and Aron Patrick to the Kentucky Nuclear Energy Development Authority.
- Myron Lewis of Sandy Hook is the county judge/executive of Elliott County and represents county judge/executives as a member of the Authority. He will serve for a term expiring Nov. 12, 2028.
- Aron Patrick of Louisville is the director of research and development at LG&E/KU and represents his employer as a member of the Authority. He will serve for a term expiring Nov. 12, 2028.
- George Bray of Paducah is the mayor of the city of Paducah and represents mayors of cities defined as energy communities as a member of the Authority. He will serve for a term expiring Nov. 19, 2028.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Nathaniel Adams as a member of the Energy Planning and Inventory Commission to serve for a term expiring Nov. 17, 2028.
- Nat Adams of Milton is the general counsel at North American Stainless. He represents commercial and industrial consumers of electrical power as a member of the Commission.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed DeAnna Brangers as a member of the State Board of Elections to serve for a term expiring March 31, 2028.
- DeAnna Brangers of Prospect is a community volunteer and represents the Republican Party of Kentucky as a member of the Board.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Heidi Margulis and Lori Ulrich as members of the Kentucky Workforce Innovation Board. Additionally, the Governor has appointed Selma Owens, George Nichols, Robert Shelton and J.H. Atkins as members of the Board.
- Heidi Margulis is a retired healthcare executive and represents business as a member of the Board. She will serve for a term expiring Oct. 6, 2027.
- Lori Ulrich of Mayslick does marketing for Fleming-Mason Energy and represents business as a member of the Board. She will serve as chair for the remainder of her term expiring Oct. 6, 2027.
- Selma Owens of Lexington is the owner of Selma’s Catering and represents business as a member of the Board. She replaces Jimmy Staton, whose term has expired, and will serve for a term expiring Nov. 14, 2027.
- George Nichols of Louisville is a technology teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools and represents the workforce and labor organizations as a member of the Board. He replaces Terry Grayson, whose term has expired, and will serve for a term expiring Nov. 14, 2027.
- Robert Shelton of Mount Washington is the training director at Louisville Electrical JATC and represents the workforce and labor organizations as a member of the Board. He replaces Russell Pierce, whose term has expired, and will serve for a term expiring Nov. 14, 2027.
- James “J.H.” Atkins of Danville is the mayor of the city of Danville and represents elected officials as a member of the Board. He replaces Robert Blythe, whose term has expired, and will serve for a term expiring Nov. 14, 2027.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Courtney Emery to the Pediatric Cancer Research Trust Fund Board. Additionally, the Governor has appointed Sophie Wells and Lauren Hayes as members of the Board.
- Courtney Emery of Lexington is a school interventionist specialist at University of Kentucky Healthcare. She represents school interventionists as a member of the Board and will serve for a term expiring May 31, 2028.
- Sophie Wells of Richmond is a social worker at University of Kentucky Healthcare. She represents pediatric oncology social workers as a member of the Board and replaces Rachel O’Farrell, who has resigned. She will serve for the remainder of the unexpired term expiring June 1, 2025.
- Lauren Hayes of Louisville is a pediatric psychologist at Norton Children’s Hospital and the University of Louisville. She represents school interventionists as a member of the Board and replaces Kayla LaRosa, whose term has expired. She will serve for a term expiring Nov. 19, 2028.
Gov. Beshear has reappointed Helen Bukulmez and Phil Holoubek to the Kentucky Bicycle and Bikeway Commission. Additionally, the Governor has appointed Joy Brown and Kim Collins as members of the Commission.
- Helen Bukulmez of Paint Lick is an attorney. She will serve for a term expiring Oct. 19, 2028.
- Phil Holoubek of Lexington is a real estate developer. He will serve for a term expiring Oct. 19, 2028.
- Joy Brown of Morehead is the executive director of the Morehead Rowan County Tourism Commission. She replaces Olivia Birkenhauer, whose term has expired, and will serve for a term expiring Nov. 14, 2028.
- Kim Collins of Richmond is retired. She replaces William Gorton, whose term has expired, and will serve for a term expiring Nov. 14, 2028.
