Part of Dance Reflections by Van Cleef & Arpels Festival
In this work for three dancers, choreographer Ola Maciejewska draws inspiration from Loïe Fuller’s signature invention, the Serpentine Dance (1892).
Ola brings the iconic legend face to face with her paradoxes and intangible character. The title, Bombyx Mori, refers to the silkworm, which has become entirely dependent on humans for its survival. Dance, archives and artifice are interwoven in this performance, engendering a metaphor for the hybrid nature of things. The Friday performance will be followed by a talk with Ola Maciejewska.

In English
In this touching and audacious stage monologue, French actress Caroline Loeb conveys the raw intensity and personal philosophies of famed French writer Françoise Sagan, who rocked French culture beginning at age 18 with her (then) scandalous 1954 novel Bonjour Tristesse. This compelling and often humorous production is based on Loeb’s adaptation of Je ne renie rien, a published collection of Sagan’s candid interviews across four decades.
