Virtual Evening Lecture presented by Lee Dugatkin*
Thursday, December 8 | 6:30pm EST

In 1786, Charles Wilson Peale created the most important—and most famous—museum in Revolutionary era America. A fusion of natural history and art, Peale’s Philadelphia Museum was meant to be an embodiment of the Enlightenment. In this lecture, Lee Dugatkin will explore science, art, and the Enlightenment in early America and how these fed the appetite of a public hungry for “rational entertainment.”

This lecture will be held via Zoom. There is NO in-person lecture.

Join the George Washington Birthday Ball Benefit Committee

On Friday, February 24, 2023, Sons of the Revolution in the State of New York will host the George Washington Birthday Ball in honor of George Washington and to benefit Fraunces Tavern Museum. The annual event serves as the Museum's biggest fundraiser.

We invite you to join this year's George Washington Birthday Ball Benefit Committee to help support the only museum in New York City dedicated to the history of the American Revolution. You can join by printing out and returning the Benefit Committee Form to Sons of the Revolution c/o Benefit Committee, 54 Pearl Street, New York, NY 10004. You can also join the Committee through our website by clicking HERE.  As a Benefit Committee Member you are entitled to a variety of benefits, including being listed on this year's Ball invitation and in the Ball Journal.
