Upcoming Election for Forbes Library Board of Trustees

Are you a Northampton resident? Or do you know a resident who would has great ideas for helping the library (and Northampton) thrive?

Three of the five seats on the Board of Trustees will be on the ballot in November.

Trustees oversee the library budget and policies as well as fundraise and advocate for the library.

Early Readers Book Club

Join us to do a craft based on Tater Tales: The Greatest in the World! by Ben Clanton! We will meet outside on the library lawn from 4:00-5:00. In the event of rain, we will meet in the community room. Books are available in the children's department to check out. Please email [email protected] with any questions.

Are you curious about how to get started on a family tree or use census records to explore the history of your neighborhood or house? Book an appointment with Brian Tabor, recently retired Forbes Library circulation manager and genealogist, and learn how to research using resources such as Ancestry, Heritage Quest and American Ancestors databases.

Straw Dog Writers Guild Writers Night Out

Join Straw Dog Writers Guild for Writers Night Out with featured writer Anne Pinkerton.

No registration required. If you want to participate in Open Mic and read, please sign up by 5:50pm. Ten names will be randomly selected. Each reader will have five minutes. The second half of the evening showcases our Featured Reader.

Magic the Gathering Club for Tweens & Teens

Bring your own decks to use if you have them, or if you don't have any cards - that's ok - Forbes will provide cards to use at the library!
