Creative Writing and Visual Arts Workshops in Provincetown
The Fine Arts Work Center Summer Workshop Program is open for registration!
Our signature education program offers over 60 week-long workshops in visual arts and creative writing to hundreds of students over the course of nine weeks each summer. We invite nationally recognized artists and writers to Provincetown to teach our open enrollment workshops. Your Week at FAWC offers a variety of readings, artist talks and special events that are free and open to the public.

Connecting with People Through Portraiture

In this workshop, gain trust with your subjects, communicate your vision for the portrait, address fears when approaching strangers, and create a space for intimacy and relationship in your portrait process.

July 2 - July 8, 2023
Each artist will work toward achieving a body of work that has a cohesive sensibility of theme and form, but which may display a variety of color, texture, and effect.

Each student will make six book models, cutting and collaging their own work to test out the possibilities of pacing, structure, sequencing, and scale of text and image.

Broadsided Press Series
Join the Work Center for one of three workshops, with Elizabeth Bradfield, Millian Giang Pham, and Alexandra Teague, celebrating how art and writing can merge into something bigger than the sum of their parts.
Queer Week
Special Guest Curator Andrea Lawlor has invited a mix of returning and new faculty who will provide a variety of workshops to challenge and bring together students in an environment infused with celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.
Youth Lit Week
Coinciding with Family Week in Ptown, our first-ever Youth Lit Week, specially curated by author Kyle Lukoff, will feature faculty who are renowned in the field of young people’s literature.
