Opening Soon
Experience two remarkable exhibitions opening this fall at the Jewish Museum. Starting October 13, explore Mood of the Moment: Gaby Aghion and the House of Chloé, which honors the visionary Jewish entrepreneur Gaby Aghion (1921 – 2014) and her enduring legacy as the founder of the French fashion house Chloé.
On November 17, see Marta Minujín: Arte! Arte! Arte! This groundbreaking exhibition marks the first comprehensive survey of Marta Minujín's work in the United States. Born to a Russian-Jewish family in 1943 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Minujín became a defining force of Latin American art. The exhibition will chart Minujín’s influential career through a range of pioneering, mattress-based soft sculptures; fluorescent large-scale paintings; psychedelic drawings and performances; and vintage film footage.
Museum Admission: $18 Adult, $12 Senior, $8 Student, free for Jewish Museum members
Also On View
See recent installations in Scenes from the Collection, including watercolor illustrations depicting stories from the Hebrew Bible by French painter James Tissot (1836 – 1902). Through October 23, view a pair of rare Torah finials (1729) by Abraham Lopes de Oliveyra (1657 – 1750), the earliest known Jewish silversmith to work in England. The set will be on view beginning in December at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, which jointly owns the finials.
