From: Biggs Museum Of American ArtYou're invited to an exciting new exhibition at the Biggs Museum of American Art: Rozeal.: Want Not (Rescue from the Otherwise Obscene, Salvation from the Wicked). This captivating showcase, running from October 3, 2024, through March 2, 2025, brings together the dynamic worlds of samurai, hip-hop, and mythology, creating an unforgettable visual experience.
Be among the first to immerse yourself in the vibrant work of Rozeal., an artist renowned for her unique fusion of Japanese woodblock printing techniques with the cultural aesthetics of American hip-hop and voguing. Explore her compelling narrative of cross-cultural identity, with multimedia paintings and intimate depictions of female figures navigating self-discovery and friendship.
As an added bonus, Rozeal. will be creating three new paintings on-site at the Biggs during the exhibition, giving visitors a rare opportunity to witness her artistic process firsthand. Rozeal.'s first live painting session will take place during the Opening Reception.
Rozeal.’s work has been exhibited around the world and is featured in prominent museum collections, including the National Gallery of Art.
